Master Bathroom Ideas in 2020

OLD-WORLD WAINSCOTING

Back in the 18th-century when this Massachusetts farmhouse was constructed, there wasn't any such thing for a master bath. So architect Michael T. Gray and interior designer Hattie Holland carved one out of a hallway and extra wainscoting and window casings to create a sense of yesteryear.

CLAW-FOOT TUB

At a Palm Beach house, the master bath walls are painted a custom watery blue. Homeowner Liza Pulitzer Calhoun chose the cast-iron claw-foot bathtub since it feels "so favorable."

NATURAL LIGHT

The beach is right outside this California house, but you never would have understood it based on its former dim, cramped layout. Designer Daleet Spector added large windows to allow in more light and reconfigured the space. "The clients do not like a lot of colour, so we worked with various textures instead," she states.

GLAM CHANDELIER

"I wanted drama!" Says designer SuzAnn Kletzien of this trendy en suite bathroom. She notes that the modern, jewelry-inspired chandelier within the claw-foot tub "definitely satisfied that need."
